Photography is probably the most accessibile and rewarding of all the art forms. It can record faces and events or it can tell a story. It can surprise, amuse and teach. It can capture and communicate emotions, it can document details rapidly and accuratly. In order to photograph you need to feel what is opposite you, to be aware of what you want to achieve, to know the character or the subject, to measure every centimetre, to find the right light and the right moment. Finally you take a photo holding your breath entranced by such magnificence. Photographs can be remembered more easily than moving images, because they are accurate slices of time not a stream. Each photograph is a privileged moment, transformed into a small object, we can keep it and see it when we like. The most important and difficult task of a photographer is not learning to use the machine or develop or printing but is to train oneself to look at the character, understand the possibilities of the equipment, the technical process in order to translate the essential elements of the image. If you are not satisfied with your results try to take photographs closer to the image.
